If your brakes squeal, grind, pulsate or pull to one side it may be time to get your brakes checked.  

Brake pads should be replaced when they are around 3 - 4mm thick. Replacing your break pads at the right time extends the life of your brake discs, meaning your brake discs are less likely to need replacing as often. 

Brake Pad replacements start from £115 (incl VAT) , dependent on your car make and model.

Over time brake discs on your car can become rusty, pitted & scored and thin with age. When brake discs are excessively worn they become less effective at stopping your vehicle.  Worn discs becomes hotter when you apply the brakes and this can reduce the friction between the discs and pads, and greatly increase the time it takes for your vehicle to come to a stop.

When replacing brake discs, the brake pads will need replacing too.
